George has a superb infrastructure of sporting facilities - squash courts, rugby fields, tennis courts, bowling greens, golf courses, swimming & table tennis, etc.

Bowling:
GEORGE BOWLING CLUB is open for plan on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday afternoons & on Sunday mornings.
OUTENIQUA BOWLING CLUB is open on Wednesday & Saturday afternoons & Sunday mornings.

Golf:
Visiting golfers to the Garden Route will have the opportunity to play on SEVEN of the MOST SCENIC GOLF COURSES with some of the most modern facilities. The FANCOURT (Blanco) & GOOSE VALLEY (Plettenberg Bay) golf courses were designed by Gary Player. Ernie Els rates the GEORGE golf course in his "top few" courses in the country.

Mountain Biking:
The Garden route is known for its ideal conditions for different sports and the exhilarating possibilities for mountain bikes make this no exception. One could get lost for days pedaling along the dirt roads in the Geelhoutboom area. The roads are generally flat & well maintained & the views of the farms & mountain are quite magnificent. Try cycling along the dirt roads in the Wilderness Lakes area going from Island Lake towards Sedgefield. Two rides are available in the municipal forest around the George Dam. Paragliding:
PARAGLIDING is a popular sport around George, with some beautiful possibilities for coastal flying. From the jumping platform at the Holiday Inn to the dunes at Kleinkrantz, there is something for the beginner to the most skilled paragliders. A spectacular view awaits the paraglider taking off at Wilderness Heights. The local club is SKYWINGS and they go flying as regular as the wind allows. It is imperative that paragliders be in possession of the proper qualifications before they use any of the jumps along the coast.

4X4 Eco Bound:
Well organised 4x4 trips to remote areas where nature is left untouched, and off-the beaten-track destinations that are only accessible by off-road vehicles.
