From May to August you can take advantage of the less hectic, less crowded & more tranquil Scenic Season period, when accommodation is more readily available and special rates are offered by most establishments. The many mild & sunny days are perfect for simply lazing on the beach, or for taking long walks along the stretches of pristine beach that the region is well known for. Or perhaps you’d prefer to embark on something more exhilarating, such as a beach, forest, or mountain hike. It is little known fact that the Garden Route’s lowest rainfalls occur during the months of June & July. The region has a temperate climate throughout the year & winters are generally mild, with average temperatures in the 20’s.
